When you want the finest Cabernet Sauvignon, you turn to Oakville, in the heart of the Napa Valley.  Surrounded by such favorites as Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle, Rudd, Bond and Phelps’ Bacchus, you will find this tiny gem of a vineyard.  Tierra Roja is Spanish for the rich, red, volcanic soils that impart a unique richness to the grapes from this site.

Linda Neal, best known for over 20 years as a Vineyard Manager in Napa Valley, is the Grower/Vintner, farming Tierra Roja since 1987.  Jeff Ames is the talented Winemaker of this 2018.  Together they bring you the classic layers of complexity, elegance, and a new flavor each time you visit the glass.

This wine sells out quickly each year.

“The 2018 Tierra Roja Cabernet Sauvignon is masterful. The aromatics leap from the glass, illuminating telltale notes of black currant, boysenberry and bramble that only the very best of Napa Valley can achieve to such a concentrated level. Notes of baking spice, subtle earth and tobacco support the ample fruit. On the palate the wine reveals to be one of Linda Neal’s most powerful and intense vintages yet. The flavors carry more black currant and dark berries combined with oak driven characteristics of leather, dark cocoa powder and spice. The wine is rich and full bodied, highly concentrated in aromatics and flavors, and incredibly long lasting with lingering vibrancy. This wine is a stunning 2018 bottling from the steepest hillsides of the Oakville AVA in the Napa Valley, and without a doubt, will age on beautifully for decades more.”   Lindsey Gorfine, DipWSET

“The release of the 2018 vintage finds our world still standing on shifting sands socially in 2021.  I hope this note finds you and your business in a stronger place than last year.  One of our best respites and rewards for persevierance is to enjoy great food and wines, and introduce your customers to the joy of trying something new.  I hope that this Tierra Roja will be one of your special shares, now, and during the better times which lie ahead.  Thank you for your ongoing support.”  Linda Neal
